FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team defeated Harris-Stowe State University, 3-0, on Tuesday night. The Owls were led by senior
Anthony Moscatello who scored a hat trick in the win. The win for the Owls kept them unbeaten in AMC action.
Moscatello, entered the contest with two goals on the season, scored all three for the Owls growing the Owls win streak to two games. The shutout for the Owls was its ninth of the season for
Conor Cable, which sets a single season school record for WWU.
WWU returns to action on Saturday, October 21st when they host Freed-Hardeman University. Its senior day for the Owls and the Owls seniors will be honored prior to the contest. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.

William Woods offense looked to score early in the match as
Roberto Duro Sanchez and
Josh Clark had shots on goal that John Jancewicz saved. WWU kept putting pressure on the Hornets defense as they had five shots in the first 15 minutes of the contest.
WWU broke the scoreless tie with 28:05 left in the first half.

Anthony Moscatello, who headed the ball in putting the Owls ahead, 1-0.
Six minutes later the Owls grew its lead to 2-0.
Victor Faure found Moscatello who beat the Hornets goalie extending the Owls lead to 2-0.
The Owls continued to put pressure on the Hornets defense as Moscatello had another shot put it went wide. After his shot the Horents had two shots on goal but the Owls defense cleared one and
Conor Cable recorded a save. WWU went into halftime leading 2-0.
William Woods opened the second half like the first half as they put pressure on Harris-Stowe. However, the Owls had shots go wide or high of goal. WWU grew the lead to 3-0 with 27:28 left in the first half.

Zachary Baliva who found Moscatello. Moscatello beat the goalie extending the Owls lead to 3-0 and giving himself a hat trick.
WWU continued to put shots on goal but could not get another goal. The Owls defense kept the Hornets shotless in the second half and the Owls came away with a 3-0 victory. The win for the Owls improved them to 11-2-3 on the season and 8-0-1 in the AMC.
