Women's Soccer Hosts Freed-Hardeman on Saturday For Senior Day

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team takes on Freed-Hardeman University on Saturday, October 21st at 1 p.m. at Firley Field in the American Midwest Conference Game of the Week.

Saturday is senior day and the Owls will honor its seniors prior to the contest.
 
About the Owls
- The Owls enter the matchup with a record of 11-4-1 overall and are 8-1-1 in the AMC
- The Owls are currently ranked second in the American Midwest Conference sitting behind No. 9 Columbia College with 25 points and are one point in front of third place Freed-Hardeman
- The eight wins in the AMC ties the most wins in a single season for the Owls
- As a team, the Owls are ranked 11th in assists with 43 on the season. Jenna Vogt is leading the Owls in assists with seven on the season
- The Owls are ranked 16th in goals with 51 in the season
- Shelby Scanlan leads the Owls with 19 goals and is ranked sixth in the nation
- Shelby Scanlan ranks fourth in the NAIA in game winning goals, adding one against Columbia for a total of five on the season.

- The Lions are entering the matchup with a record of 10-4 overall and an AMC record of 8-1
- The Lions are sitting third in the AMC standings with 24 points
- Freed-Hardeman is currently on an eight game winning streak. Their last loss came on September 15th when they were defeated by then-No. 5 Columbia, 4-0
- Offensively, the Lyons are ranked 24th in goals scored with 47 in the season
- Samantha Clymer leads the Lyons with 19 goals and 40 points on the season. Her goal total is the sixth best mark in the NAIA and her point total is 16th best
- Erin Douglas has a total of 48 saves in the season and has allowed 15 goals

What's Next
The Owls will wrap up their regular season when they travel to Parkville, Missouri to take on the Pirates of Park University on October 25, kickoff set for 5 p.m. Following the Park contest, the Owls will wait and see whom they play in the first round of the AMC Tournament, which starts on November 3.
