OTTAWA, Kan. – The William Woods University men's soccer team won its second contest of the season with a 3-1 victory over Ottawa University on Tuesday night in Ottawa, Kansas.
The Owls outshot the Braves, 20-11 in the contest, and 12-7 on shots on goal. WWU led 3-0 before the Braves scored with 15 minutes to go in the contest.

David Marshall all had a goal for the Owls.
The Owls return to action on Saturday, September 16th when they travel to St. Louis, Mo. to face Missouri Baptist University. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

William Woods offense came out looking to score early as they had two shots on goal over the first four minutes of the contest. WWU scored the first goal with 38:03 left in the first half when
Josh Clark found
Rodrigo Alves for a goal.
The shots continued to come for the Owls had they had four more shots over the next 13 minutes of the contest, however, the Owls could not get another shot past Angel Cruz. With 21:36 left in the first half, Rufus McIlrath fired a shot on the Owls goal which
Matheus Taraszkiewicz saved.
The Owls continued to pressure the Braves defense but could not get another shot past Cruz and the Owls led 1-0 going into halftime.
Like the first half, the Owls scored early in the second half. After a shot by the Braves, which Taraszkiewicz saved, the Owls countered and

Darren Wilson for a goal putting the Owls ahead, 2-0.
Seven minutes later the Owls scored its third goal of the game when Wilson found
David Marshall for a goal. The Owls offense continued to pressure the Braves defense as Anthony Moscotello had a shot go off the cross bar and six seconds later,
Victor Faure had a shot saved by Cruz.
With 16:54 left in the contest, the Braves scored its first goal of the game as Ross Anderson found Anthony Galeana trimming the Owls lead down to two, 3-1.
WWU continued to collect shots in the second half but did not score again and the Owls kept the Braves off the scoreboard for the remainder of the contest. WWU came away with a 3-1 victory over Ottawa.
