FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Volleyball team defeated College of the Ozarks on Tuesday evening in four set, 3-1 (21-25, 25-12, 25-23, 25-22), for the eleventh win of the season.

Tory Wiley led the Owls with 12 kills on the match and
Kate Doerhoff added ten for the Owls.
Brittney Engelbrecht had a game-high 34 assists in the match.
Jessica Jensen led the Owls with 27 digs in the match. As a team, the Owls collected a hitting percentage of .200 on the match.

WWU returns to action on Friday, September 22nd when they host Central Baptist College at Anderson Arena. Match starts at 6 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls started out three points behind the Bobcats and would cut the lead down to one, 7-6, when
Tory Wiley and
Abby Ferguson would collect a block. The Bobcats would continue to run away with the lead after a three-point run by Hannah Bracker, 14-8. The Owls would battle but could not get back into the set. College of the Ozarks took set one, 25-21.

The second set would be run by the Owls when they went on a five-point run with
Melanie Kala behind the service line and the Owl took a 7-1 lead. The Owls would continue to push their lead as
Kate Doerhoff and Abby Fergusen added kills to the score, 11-2. The Bobcats would score eight more points before the Owls shut down their offense with blocks from
Kira Krebill, Wiley, and Doerhoff, 25-12.

The third set went point for point as both teams battled to take the lead. It was not until a kill by Wiley that the Owls took a three-point lead, 7-4. The Bobcats would threaten when they cut the lead down to three, 15-12. The Bobcats would then take the lead but it would not last as the Owls answered back with a four-point run, 23-20. A kill by
Rayleen Rivera would get the Owls a third set win, 25-23.

The Owls would come out the gate in the fourth set scoring the first three points of the set, 3-0. The set went point for point until the Owls found themselves with a three-point lead after a kill by Wiley, 8-5. The match then turned toward the dramatics as both teams would win every other point, until the Owls snuck away with a two-point lead, 19-17. The Owls would continue to fight to keep their lead as they ended the fourth set with a kill by Wiley and Doerhoff, 25-22.
