BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The William Woods University women's soccer team captured their seventh straight shutout this season as they defeated Lindenwood-Belleville 2-0.

WWU had five players attempt a shot on the night. Scanlan led William Woods with two shots.

The Owls travel to Columbia (Mo.) Friday, Oct. 26th for their final regular season game against conference opponent Columbia. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

Game Flow
Within the first 15-minutes of the half, William Woods was able to get out to an early 1-0 on a Scanlan goal that was assisted by Wiebe. The Owls continued to attack when
Lexi Rosa attempted a shot from deep but missed wide of the goal.

Lindenwood-Belleville had opportunities early on but could not connect.

At the 33:24 mark,
Samantha Donaldson attempted a shot on goal but would be denied by Lynx goalkeeper Luisa Santillan.

Neither team would get off a shot and William Woods walked into halftime ahead 1-0.

Returning from halftime, WWU looked to increase their lead. They did just that when
Claire Stark found Wiebe for a goal and pushed the Owls lead to 2-0. 2-minutes later, Scanlan attempted another shot but it would be saved by Santillan.

The Lynx continued to struggle the second half not really finding a spark. Finally, with 5-minutes remaining Kylie Bilek attempted a shot for Lindenwood-Belleville but would be saved by WWU's
Abbey West.

William Woods attempted one final shot before the end of regulation. The Owls went on to win the match 2-0.
