COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team closed out its 2018 regular season with a 2-2 draw against Columbia College on Friday evening.
McKenzie Gourley lead the Owls with two goals in the tie.

Game Flow
The Owls struggled to get anything going offensively early against the Cougars, but the Cougars offense came out clicking. Within the first 10 minutes of the contest, the Cougars had seven shots with three being on goal, that
Abbey West saved.
The Owls got its first shot of the game with 32:13 left in the half when
Abby Prather-Turner missed a shot wide. Following her shot, the Cougars continued to pressure the Owls defense. Emma Laney and Kelsey Mirts had shots on goal that West saved.
Prather-Turner's shot was the only the Owls had in the first half and they went scoreless into halftime.
Columbia continued to pressure the Owls defense in the early stages of the second half. After Mirts shot was saved the Cougars had a shot go off the crossbar keeping the game scoreless.
Two minutes later, the Owls scored the first goal of the game.

Shelby Scanlan had a shot that went wide of goal.
The Cougars attack was not done as Mallory Holzer had a shot go off the post. Eight minutes after the shot went off the post, the Cougars tied the game at 1-1 when Mirts found Lucy Kingsley for the game tying goal.
The Owls responded eight minutes later taking a 2-1 lead after
Leah Bonugli found Gourley for another goal. This was Gourley's second goal of the game, which put the Owls ahead by one.
The lead did not last long for the Owls as Samantha Bassler tied the game up for Columbia with a goal with 9:57 left in regulation. Neither team scored in regulation and the game went to overtime tied at 2-2.
In the first overtime, the Owls had the first shot when Prather-Turner put a shot on goal that was saved by Erin Jones. The only other shot came by Kaitlyn Tambke, who's shot was saved, and the went to a second overtime.
The Cougars had the only shot attempts in the second overtime period but all shot were high or wide of goal. WWU and the Cougars played to a 2-2 tie.
