FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team captured their fourth win in a row Wednesday night as the defeated Stephens College, 6-0. The Owls move to 6-5-1 overall and 4-1-1 on AMC play.

Shelby Wiebe led the way with two goals for the Owls.
Shelby Scanlan, Leah Bonguli,
Aurora Henriksen and
Rachel Humble followed with one goal each on the night. The Owls outshot the stars 47-2 and 25-0 shots on goal.

WWU returns to action Saturday, October 6th as they face Central Baptist. Game time is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Firley Field.

Game Flow
William Wood were the aggressors in the opening minutes of the first half. With less than five minutes off the game clock,
Aurora Henriksen attempted the first shot for the Owls that missed wide of the goal. Shortly after missing wide, Henriksen attempted another shot that was saved by Stephens goalkeeper Maeghan Ely. After two WWU attempts,
Shelby Scanlan took a shot that was saved by Ely but the ball bounced to Wiebe's feet and Webie scored putting the Owls ahead, 1-0. Â

Still, in attack mode, Henriksen was determined to score the second goal for the Owls but did not connect on her attempted as she missed wide of the goal for the second time.Â

Midway through the first half, Leah Bonugil was 25 yards out and took a shot on goal that flew above the goalkeepers' head and pushed the Owls lead to 2-0.

WWU would continue to put pressure on the Stars goalkeeper. Henriksen continued searching for her first goal on the night but would hit the post and keep the score 2-0. Shortly after,
Rachel Humble attempted her first shot of the night but her attempt would be saved by Ely.

In the final minutes of the half, Humble broke free for another attempted but the shot would again be saved by Ely. William Woods held Stephens shot less the entire first half and entered halftime with a 2-0 lead.

WWU started the second half the same way they started off the game. Two minutes in, Henriksen attempted another shot but the quick hands of Ely denied her of a goal.

After going shotless in the first half, Morgan Lange attempted a shot for the Stars but missed wide of the goal. Stephens continued their upward momentum with a shot attempt coming from Sophie Taube that missed wide of the goal and kept the WWU lead 2-0.

After the Stephens attack,
Claire Stark was able to find room and just about scored for the Owls, but her shot was saved by Ely.

After multiple WWU shot attempts,
Colleen Bayer took a shot that Ely saved, however, Ely could not control the rebound and Scanlan found the ball and found the back of the net putting the Owls ahead, 3-0. Â Six minutes later, Humble broke free and found Wiebe for her second goal of the night and gave William Woods a 4-0 lead.

After attempting two shots early, Stephens was unable to attempt any more shots.

With 17:54 remaining in the game, Henriksen finally was able to score a goal on an assist from Humble moving the lead to 5-0. Humble found Henriksen on around the penalty kick area and Henriksen went lower left corner of the goal putting the Owls ahead 5-0.

With 38 seconds remaining in the game, Humble broke free for the final goal of the game and William Woods would go on to defeat Stephens 6-0.
