FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team won their fourth straight game Saturday when they defeated Central Baptist College, 4-0. The Owl are now 7-5-1 and 5-1-1 in the AMC.

The Owls outshot the Mustangs 33-0 and 17-0 shots on goal.
Shelby Scanlan led the way for WWU with two goals in the match.Â

William Woods returns to action on October 13th when they travel to St. Louis, Mo. to take on Harris-Stowe. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

Game Flow
William Woods opened up the match in full attack mode. With less than two minutes off of the game clock,
Abby Prather-Turner attempted a shot on goal that was saved by Central Baptist goalkeeper Sara Calzada. Shortly after
Claire Stark looked to score for the Owls but was also denied by Calzada.

Ten minutes into the first half, Stark was able to find
Aurora Henriksen for the Owls first goal and put them ahead 1-0. Central Baptist was unable to get anything going in the opening minutes.

Midway through the first half, Stark attempted another shot that was saved by Calzada. A few seconds later, Stark attempted another shot but this time, Marcela Bueno was able to block her attempt and keep the score 1-0.

At the 10-minute mark, the Mustangs were still struggling to attempt a shot. With six minutes remaining in the first half,
Shelby Scanlan broke free for a goal and pushed the Owls led to 2-0. Two minutes later Scanlan broke free for another goal giving WWU a 3-0 lead, which would be the halftime score.

Starting the second half, Scanlan was able to find
Shelby Wiebe for the Owls fourth goal and give them a 4-0 lead within the first few minutes of the second half. Following the WWU goal,
McKenzie Gourley looked to increase the Owls lead but could not connect as her shot missed wide of the goal.

It was not Central Baptist's day as they could not get off a shot attempt. The Owls would continue to attack but could not connect the remainder of the game and would walk away with a 4-0 conference win.

WWU had nine players attempt a shot in the contest.
Claire Stark led the way with 7 and Gourley and Scanlan both followed with six attempts of their own. Henriksen and Prather-Turner both finished with 4 attempts while Collen Bayer finished with 3.

Rachel Humble each had 1 attempt on the night.
