FULTON, Mo. - The William Woods University women's soccer team opens the 2018 American Midwest Conference Tournament Friday night as they take on fifth seed Lindenwood-Belleville. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Firley Field in Fulton, Mo.

AMC Tournament
The 2018 American Midwest Conference Tournament begins tomorrow afternoon with the No. 1 seed Missouri Baptist facing off against No. 8 seed Freed-Hardeman at 1 p.m. in St. Louis Mo. . Also playing at 1 p.m. will be No. 3 seed Park and No. 6 seed Harris-Stowe. WWU will face Lindenwood-Belleville at 6 p.m. and No. 2 seed Columbia will host No. 7 seed Lyon.

Lindenwood-Belleville
Lindenwood-Belleville finished their 2018 campaign 8-9-1 overall and 8-3-1 in the AMC. They lost their final regular season game to Missouri Baptist 1-0 on October 27
th.

So far this season they Lynx have scored a total of 42 goals and recorded 16 assists. They have only allowed opponents 30 goals and 17 assists this year.

Lindenwood-Belleville has had 21 players score this season. Maisie Kincaid led the way with seven goals and two assists.

William Woods faced Lindenwood-Belleville earlier this season on October 23
rd. The Owls defeated the Lynx 2-0.

The first match between WWU and the Lynx was on October 7, 2012 when the Owls defeated Lindenwood-Belleville 3-1. Since then, they have faced each other nine times. William Woods currently hold a 5-4 series lead.

Brianna Morrow was named AMC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week during week two,
Shelby Scanlan was named Offensive Player of the Week during week five,
Abby Prather-Turner was named Defensive Player of the Week during week seven and
McKenzie Gourley was named Offensive Player of the Week during week 10.

2017 AMC Conference Tournament – First Round
Last season, the Owls won their first round match against Lyon 4-2. Stark and Scanlan both scored for WWU. William Woods outshot the Scots 20-9 and 11-5 with shots being on goal.

They Owls currently hold two Top 25 national rankings. They rank 22
nd overall in the nation in shots per game averaging 22 and 25
th overall in total goals (55).

Scanlan is the only WWU player with national rankings. She ranks 25
th overall in total goals (16), 39

th overall in goals per game (1).
