COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University softball team snapped a four-game losing streak on Wednesday afternoon as they swept Stephens College. WWU won game one, 13-0 and won game two, 19-0.

Pitching led the Owls as they only allowed one hit combined in both games of the doubleheader. Owls starter
Madison Ausfahl threw a one hitter in game one and
Bre Logan threw a no-hitter for the Owls in the contests.

The Owls return to action on Thursday, March 15th when they host Williams Baptist College in AMC action. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.

Game One
Game Flow
After a scoreless first inning, the Owls bats came to life in the top of the second inning.
Lindy Wilson started the Owls offense with a single to left field and
Bri Devellano was hit by a pitch. With two runners on
Lindsay Van Tress singled scoring one for the Owls. WWU scored its second run on a Stars error and WWU led 2-0.

After the first out of the inning,
Emma Walker singled scoring the third run of the game for the Owls. WWU followed by scoring another run on a wild throw by the Stars. With a lead of 4-0,
Emily Robinett drove home two with a double putting WWU ahead, 6-0. Wilson, who started the inning off for the Owls came up and hit a three-run homerun putting the Owls ahead, 9-0 after the top of the second inning.

Owls start
Madison Ausfahl kept the Stars bats quiet over the first four innings of the contest. During the first three innings, she did not allow a hit. Stephens got its first hit in the bottom of the fourth inning when Alexa Ochoa singled to left. She was then picked off first base and the next two hitters were retired.

WWU grew its lead in the top of the fifth inning. With one out and one on,
Emma Walker doubled putting two runners on base.
Dacrie Depping followed with a double socring one. Robinetted followed with a single scoring another putting the Owls ahead 11-0. Wilson continued to have a hot bat as she tripled to left center scoring two and putting the Owls ahead 13-0.

Ausfahl continued to dominate in the contest as she sat the Stars down in order in the fifth inning. She pitched a complete game one hitter striking out four as she picked up the win for the Owls. WWU came away with a 13-0 victory.

The Owls got the offense started early in the second game. Wilson led off the game by reaching on an error and then stole second base. Depping drove her home with a single to right enter. With one out,
Amanda Bouchey singled to left center scoring Depping putting the Owls ahead, 2-0.

WWU kept the offense clicking in the second inning as they scored five more runs Depping picked up her second RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly putting the Owls ahead, 3-0.
Devyn Burton doubled putting two runners on for the Owls. Bouchey followed with a walk, loading the bases. Madison Aushfal came up and plated all three with a triple down the left field line. She came into score on a Stars error and WWU lead 7-0 after the top of the second inning.

Bre Logan kept the Stars bats quiet as she did not allow the Stars to reach base over the first three innings of the contest.

WWU's offense continued to add to its lead as they scored 11 runs on 10 hits in the top of the fourth.
Jessica Bradfisch drove in one on an RBI single. Later in the inning, Van Tress hit a three-run home run in the inning. After the top of the fourth inning, WWU lead 18-0.

The Stars got its first base runner on in the bottom of the fourth inning. Alexa Ochoa was hit by a pitch putting the first runner on for the Stars in the contest. After the hit batter, Logan settled down and got the next three Stars retired.

WWU scored one more in the top of the fifth inning. Bouchey doubled to lead off the inning and Van Tress traded spots with a double extending the Owls lead to 19-0.

Logan continued to dominate as she did not allow the Stars a hit in the fifth inning and pitched a complete game no-hitter.
