ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University women's tennis team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, went 2-0 on Friday as they defeated Missouri Baptist University, 6-3, before closing out the day with a 5-0 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

The Owls return to action on Sunday, April 22nd when they travel to Springfield, Missouri to face NCAA Division I Missouri State University. The match is set to start at 2 p.m.
Missouri Baptist
WWU came out strong as they took the first three doubles matches of the day.
Zlata Shuraeva and
Ana Zavala came away with an 8-0 victory in No. 2 doubles.
Chelsea Steward and
Felicia Cesar followed with an 8-3 win in NO. 3 doubles. WWU's No. 1 doubles team of
Julia Mulder and
Abigail Lemberger came away with an 8-6 victory giving the Owls a 3-0 lead.
WWU took would take three of the six singles matches to win the match 6-3. The Owls came out and won No. 6 singles, in straight sets as
Julia Mulder defeated Rafaela Davide.
Felicia Cesar won 6-2, 6-1 in No. 5 singles and
Ana Zavala won 6-1, 6-1 in No. 4 singles.
The Owls dropped No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles to defeat the Spartans 6-3.
