Men’s Soccer Defeats Robert Morris, 2-1, In Overtime

CHICAGO, Ill. –  In the first ever meeting between William Woods University and Robert Morris University 90 minutes was not enough time to decide a winner. The Owls scored the game-winning goal in the first overtime period to defeat Robert Morris, 2-1.
 
Billy Nzojyibwami scored both goals for the Owls. He scored the game-winning goal in overtime giving the Owls its third straight victory of the season.
 
The Owls return to action on Monday, September 3rd when they play in Elgin, Illinois against Judson University. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
 
Game Flow
The Owls came out in the first half playing aggressive as they had nine shots in the first half. After coming off the bench in the first half, Billy Nzojyibwami got the Owls on the scoreboard. He dribbled through left of goal and he fired a shot on goal to the right corner scoring putting the Owls ahead 1-0.
 
Robert Morris was limited to four shots in first half, two of which were on goal and the Owls Ben Faherty recorded the saves. WWU lead 1-0 heading into halftime.
 
The Eagles tied the game late in the second half. After an Owls foul was called, Robert Morris had a free kick. Linus Willnauer took the kick from 25 yards out and scored tying the game at 1-1.
 
WWU had 10 shots in the second half but could not get a shot get a shot past Fabio Beyer and after 90 minutes of action the game was tied at 1-1 and heading to overtime.
 
In over time, the Owls scored the game-winning goal with just under five minutes remaining in the first overtime. Tres Caroo found Nzojyibwami, who was streaking up the sideline. After getting the ball, Nzojyibwami beat Beyer giving the Owls a 2-1 victory.
