Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Downs Pharmacy, 6-0, For Fourth Straight Win

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team won its fourth straight AMC match on Saturday afternoon with a 6-0 victory over visiting St. Louis College of Pharmacy. The six goals scored by the Owls is a season-high.
 
WWU had five different players score a goal in the contest led by Billy Nzojyibwami, who scored twice. Nzojyibwami also dished out two assists in the match. WWU outshot the Eutectics 26-4 in the contest. The shutout is the Owls sixth of the season.
 
The Owls return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 25th when they travel to Hannibal, Mo. to face Hannibal-LaGrange University. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
 
Game Flow
The Owls looked to get the offense going girl as Yamac Aytekin had a shot that was saved by the Eutectics goalie less than two minutes into the game. Following the shot, the Owls were called for three offsides and could not get momentum going their way.
 
With just under 33 minutes to go in the half, Darren Wilson had a shot that was saved. A minute later, the Owls got onto the scoreboard when Logan Christopher found Billy Nzojyibwami, who scored his first goal of the game putting the Owls ahead 1-0.
 
Thirteen minutes later in the contest, the Owls added to its lead. Wilson found NZojyibwami for his second goal of the game and the second goal for the Owls in the half.
 
Following Nzojyibwami's second goal, the Owls continued to attack, but the Owls could not score another goal in the half and WWU took a 2-0 lead into halftime.
 
The Owls came out ready to score in the second half, as they had the first two shots of the half, but they were saved and missed high. After the Eutectics had two shots, the Owls got the third goal of the game. Nzojyibwami was in the box and found Tres Caroo who scored the third goal of the day for the Owls.
 
Seven minutes later, Nzojyibwami started another scoring opportunity. He found Logan Christopher who scored extending the Owls lead to 4-0.
 
WWU added its fifth goal of the game with 19:49 left in the game when Wessel Albers found Spencer Hiles in front of the net and Hiles scored. Seven minutes later, Christopher found Ethan Roth on the left side of the box and Roth scored putting the Owls ahead 6-0.
 
The Eutectics did not have a scoring chance the rest of the way and the Owls came away with a 6-0 victory.
