Greenlee Records Double-Double in Win over Hannibal-LaGrange

HANNIBAL, Mo. – The RV William Woods University women's basketball team rolled to a 67-51 win over Hannibal-LaGrange University Thursday evening. The win moves the Owls to 10-6 on the season with a 6-4 conference mark. 
 
Peyton Greenlee recorded her season's first double-double with 15 points and 10 boards, and Kasey Hazell and Kaycee Gerald scored in double digits. 
 
The Owls return home for a 1 p.m. game versus St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday, January 12. 
 
Game Flow
Kaycee Gerald scored the first four points of the game inside the paint, and Ashleigh Frampton brought the Owls to a 6-0 lead with her bucket. HLG tied the game up over the next minute, but the Owls pushed back a five-point lead. 
 
Another 6-0 run pushed the Owls up by 12 with 1:50 on the clock, 22-10. HLG scored one more to bring the game to 22-12, and both teams were unable to score in the remaining 1:35 on the quarter.
 
The Owls held HLG to just two early buckets in the second quarter while piling on a 13-0 run in the last six minutes of the second to head into halftime with a 21-point lead, 37-16.
 
Gerald and Kasey Hazell scored the first two baskets in the second half to go up 25. Midway through the quarter, Peyton Greenlee hit a three to give the Owls a 28-point lead, their largest lead of the game.
 
In the final two minutes of the third quarter, HLG's Kylee Elmore scored six points to bring the game within 20 heading into the fourth quarter, 50-30.
 
HLG managed to bring their deficit under 20 points in the fourth quarter. A three from Bailey Rollins and a put back from Frampton brought the Owls lead back over 20, but HLG cut the game to 16 with 5:21 on the clock. 
 
With 1:59 left to play, the Owls held just a 14-point lead. With under a minute to play, Hazell and Jazlyn Drake hit back-to-back shots in the paint to take back an 18-point lead.
 
In the final seconds on the game, HLG went 2-for-2 from the foul line to end the game with an Owl's 67-51 win.
