FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods volleyball team grabbed their fifth conference win of the season Thursday evening against Hannibal LaGrange, 3-0 (29-27, 25-16, 25-23). The Owls improve to an overall record of 14-13 and 5-2 in the AMC.

The Owls will be back in action at 9 a.m. on October 19 at the Columbia College Fall Classic.
Game Flow
After two attack errors by the Owls, a kill from
Nise Salima got the Owls on the board, 2-1.
This was the start of a battle between the Owls and the Trojans. In the first set alone, there were 11 ties recorded.
The Owls took their second lead of the match with a kill from
Lanie Lowry, 7-6.
The Trojans slowly extended their lead as they led by as many as eight, 21-13.
With a big push, the Owls went on two 4-0 runs which put them back within two, 22-20.
A kill by the Trojans gave them a set point, 24-13.
Four key kills by
Faith McQueen and
Kate Doerhoff extended the set for the Owls. William Woods was able to take set one, 29-27.
Three straight kills for the Owls gave them a 3-1 advantage over the Trojans to start the second set.
The Trojans tied it up 6-6 after a service error by the Owls. This was the last tie of the second set.
From there, the Owls maintained their lead the rest of the set.
The Owls started to pull away after a kill by
Hannah Kuehl, 16-10.
William Woods went on to take the second set, 25-16.
A kill by Doerhoff started the Owls off in the third set, 1-1.
Despite two ties, the Trojans were in control with a 9-6 advantage.
The Owls came back to tie it up after a kill from
Ally Konarzewski, 10-10.
There were a total of 11 ties in the third set alone.
Another kill by Konarzewski gave the Owls their first lead of the third set, 15-14.
A kill by the Trojans tied it back up, 18-18.
A Doerhoff kill secured the third set for the Owls as they were able to pull away with a 25-23 victory.
