CONWAY, Ark. – Current American Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week
McKenzie Gourley netted four goals in Tuesday's 8-0 shutout over Central Baptist College. The shutout brings the Owls to 6-2 in conference play, 7-7 overall.
Gourley scored the first two goals of the game within the first 12 minutes.
Taylor Amlong assisted the first goal.
Savannah Smith connected in the 31
st minute to give the Owls a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Gourley scored in the 50
th minute for a hat trick with the help from Smith.
Abbie Gilblair found the back of the net just three minutes later with Smith's help to give the Owls a 5-0 lead.
Chloe Overkamp scored next for the Owls with an assist from Amlong in the 55
th minute. Just under a minute later, Gourley connected on her fourth goal of the game.
Madi Wedekin scored the Owls' eighth and final goal in the 87
th minute.
Gourley connected on four of her five shots on goal. Smith tallied four points with a goal and two assists.
Alexis Willingham took four shots on goal but was unable to get back the CBC keeper.
Michyla Handley recorded the shutout win in goal. She made one save.
The Owls next host Hannibal-LaGrange on Wed., Oct. 23, at 5 p.m.
