WWU Soccer Picks Up Third Straight Win as They Defeated Park 3-1

Box Score PARKVILLE, Mo. – The William Woods women's soccer team picked up their third straight conference win on Tuesday evening, 3-1. The Owls move to 5-7 overall with an AMC record of 4-2.

The Owls will take on Williams Baptist (Ark.) on October 11 at 12 p.m. in Walnut Ridge, Ark.
 
Game Flow
The Owls got things started 10 minutes into the game with a goal from Kenzie Gourley, 1-0.
 
Chloe Overkamp would try to extend the lead, but missed wide of the goal.
 
A successful penalty shot by Gourley gave the Owls a 2-0 advantage with 33 minutes on the clock.
 
Yet again, Gourley connected five minutes laster from 20-yards out, giving the Owls a 3-0 lead. This was Gourley's final goal of the match as she was 3 for 3 in the first half.
 
Going into halftime, the Owls led 3-0.
 
Starting the second half, the Pirates got aggressive with two back-to-back shot attempts, but were unsuccessful.


The Owls had two more shot attempts, but missed wide.
 
Michyla Handley made her first save of the match with 59 minutes on the clock.
 
On the 79 minute mark, the Pirates finally got on the board with a shot from Anna Witherell, assisted by Lenvix Ochieng, 3-1. This was the final goal of the contest.
 
The Owls went on to win over the Pirates, 3-1.
