FULTON, Mo. William Woods University Women's Basketball captured their 8
th straight victory of the season Tuesday night as they defeated Harris-Stowe 69-61. WWU is now 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the American Midwest Conference.
Peyton Greenlee led the Owls with 21 points and 6 rebounds.
Kaycee Gerald followed with 14 points and a team high 7 assists.
Rylie Cox chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds while
Ashleigh Frampton scored 8 points and snatched down 7 rebounds.

th as they travel to Columbia, Missouri to take on No.9 Columbia. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.

Game Flow
William Woods opened scoring early in the first period when
Ashleigh Frampton connected on a 2-point basket putting the Owls ahead 2-0. They looked to extend their lead but
Peyton Greenlee could not connect on her 3-point attempt.
Harris-Stowe was able to put their first points on the board when Kambri Davison connected on a nice 2-point basket in the paint. WWU immediately responded to the Hornet basket with basket of their own coming from
Carleigh Jenkins.
With a 2-point lead, the Owls were able to extend the lead to 6-2 when
Kaycee Gerald created a turnover and scored on the break.
HSSU continued to trade baskets with the Owls up until the 1:48 mark when a
Jazlyn Drake basket put William Woods ahead 20-9.
The Hornets ended the period scoring two straight baskets but remained behind 9 going into the second period.
Much like the first period, William Woods got out to an early lead. 3-minutes into the second period,
Rylie Cox connected on a Fastbreak layup and push the Owls lead to 32-15.
After watching WWU rack up points, the Hornets decided to go on a run of their own but still trailed big.
With 38-seconds remaining in the half, Danayzia Stuckey scored a Fastbreak layup and put HSSU down 39-26 going into halftime.
Up big going into the third period, the Owls continued their attack scoring two straight baskets.
Harris-Stowe continued to put points on the board but could not slow WWU down as they were able to jump ahead 49-32.
The Hornets were able to cut the deficit to 14 when Destiney Amaefula knocked down a huge 3-point basket, but the Owls quickly responded with a 2-point bucket of their own pushing the lead back to 51-35.
In the final minute of the period, Gerald hit two free throws to give WWU a 20-point advantage going into the fourth period.
William Woods continued to dominate in the earlier parts of the half, the game was all but over. It was not until the 3:08 mark that HSSU got within 10 of the Owls.
After trading baskets, the final minutes of the period, Ladaijha Watson knocked down a late basket and put the Hornets down 8.
Time expired before another HSSU run could happen. The Owls went on win their eight straight game 69-61.
