BELLEVILLE, Ill. – A dominating second half helped pushed the William Woods University men's basketball team over Lindenwood University-Belleville Saturday afternoon, 88-73. The Owls move to 6-5 on the season with a 3-2 conference mark.
The Owls outscored LUB 55-35 in the second half.
WWU travels to College of the Ozarks on Tuesday, Dec. 10 for their final non-conference match-up of the season. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.

Game Flow
LUB jumped out to a 14-4 lead to start the game.
Andrew Nett broke the Owls' five-minute silence with a three, and the Owls slowly chipped at their deficit to bring them within five with 11:40 to play.
LUB pushed back a double-digit lead and maintained it until a 5-0 run brought the Owls within four with 4:12 to play, 27-22.
Back-to-back three-pointers from
D'Aaron Owens and Nett cut the game to five with 1:35 left to play in the first half, 36-31.
Darius Yohe added two more to the Owls' 8-0 run with two good bonus free throws.
LUB scored the final points of the half to send the game into halftime with LUB leading by five, 38-33.
After the two teams traded buckets through the first four possessions, the Owls powered a 13-2 run to give them a six-point lead with 13:56 on the clock, their first of the game.
LUB cut the game to three, 52-49, but Yohe sunk both his free throws to start a 6-0 run for the Owls.
With 9:13 on the clock,
Makenzie Fessler made a bucket to put the Owls up by seven, 62-55. The Owls reached a double-digit lead when
Treshawn Gause went 2-for-2 on bonus free throws with 7:31 to play.
LUB cut the game back to single digits with free throws, but a bucket from
Noah Wurtz put the Owls back into a double-digit lead with 5:06 to play, 70-59.
Wurtz combined for five points of the Owls' 6-0 run to give the team a 16-point lead with 3:19 on the clock, 77-61.
LUB fouled to stop the clock, but the Owls went 6-of-8 from the foul line in the final two minutes to grab the 88-73 win.
