BELLEVILLE, Ill. – The William Woods University women's basketball team fell to Lindenwood University-Belleville for their second conference loss of the season Saturday afternoon, 70-61. The Owls fall to 8-2 on the season with a 3-2 conference mark.
The Owls have their bye week next week and will return to the court on Thursday, Dec. 19. They face Central Baptist College on the road starting at 5:30 p.m.

Game Flow
Rylie Cox kicked off the game with a traditional three-point play on the first possession, giving the Owls the lead just 13 seconds into the game.
LUB took a one-point lead three minutes in, but
Kaycee Gerald knocked down a jumper to take back the lead with 6:20 on the clock, 7-6.
Peyton Greenlee followed with a three, giving the Owls their largest lead of the game, 10-6.
LUB answered with a 10-0 run to bring the game within the final minute of the first quarter, 16-10.
Gerald scored the final points of the quarter, sending the game into the second with the Owls trailing 16-12.
Two free throws brought the Owls within four just a minute and a half into the second quarter, 18-14, but LUB scored the next five to take a nine-point lead, 23-14.
Back-to-back Owls' three-pointers from
Tori Nesslage and Cox brought the Owls within three halfway through. LUB answered with five of their own to pull back an eight-point lead, 28-20.
Gerald hit a jumper with 1:05 to play in the half, but LUB scored the final points of the game to send the teams into the locker room with WWU trailing by eight, 30-22.
After the Owls cut the game to six two minutes into the second half, LUB pushed out a 14-point lead with an 8-0 run, 42-28.
While in bonus, Jazyln Drake was sent to the line. Her made free throw brought the Owls within 11, but LUB went back up by 16 with 29 seconds to play in the third.
Frampton scored the final points of the third quarter, sending the game into the final 10 minutes of play with LUB leading by 14, 51-37.
Drake hit a three to start the final quarter, but LUB answered with back-to-back threes to take a 17-point lead.
With 3:55 on the clock, Drake hit her second three of the day to cut the game to 11 and start an 8-0 run to bring the Owls within six with 2:41 to play.
After Greenlee hit a long jumper to keep the game within reach, LUB went 4-for-4 from the foul line to take up a 10-point lead, 68-58.
Nesslage added a point to bring the Owls within single digits again, but LUB added two more points from the foul line to go up by 11 with 11 seconds on the clock, 70-59.
At the buzzer, Drake sunk a bucket to end the game with a nine-point loss, 70-61.
