Four Cross Country Runners Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The US Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its 2018 Cross Country All-Academic Awards and four Owls runners have been recognized. The William Woods women's cross country team posted three all-academic winners, while the men's team had one.

The USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors student-athletes who have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 in addition to competing at the NAIA Championships.

On the women's side, Harley Nale, Whitneigh Drown and Alicia Engelbrecht earned the honor. On the men's side, Nathaniel Ogden received the honor.

The two teams also earned the Team All-Academic award. The men's team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.52 while the women held a 3.41. 

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
