CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- William Woods Men's Cross Country team rounded out their season with a ninth-place team finish at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships. Sean Wigger led the way for Woods finishing 26th place at the meet.  

Wigger ran away with a final PR of 25:35.2, cracking the Owls top ten all-time finishes in the 8k. Behind Wigger the Owls finished 47th, 57th, 63rd, 66th in counting scores with Justus Yates, Hunter Bickell, Oshawi Burgher and Gabriel Soest finishing in that order. Personal bests were set by Yates, Bickell, Burgher, Soest, Mason Voegeli, Landon Higgins, and Charlie Alderton. The men's team placed 9th out of 14 teams. 

Standout freshman Wigger added, "First off I want to say, I'm so proud of how both our teams performed today through the adverse conditions. I can't wait to see our guys team next year having Blaine and Kyle back. Lastly, it was an honor leading the team this year and ending on such a big PR!" 

Woods closes out their first season in the Heart returning every runner for 2026.
