FULTON, Mo. – William Woods University Softball captured their 17th and 18th win of the season Monday afternoon as they shutout Harris-Stowe 10-1 and 12-0. The Owls are now sitting at .500 in the American Midwest Conference.

Pitcher Alexis Hassler captured her first victory of the season as she only gave up three hits on the day.

Game One
The Owls got off to an excellent start early in the contest. Three hitters in, they posted their first run of the game when Lindy Wilson scored on an Emma Walker triple down deep right field. Ari Arnold and Walker were also able to reach home plate and give WWU a 3-0 lead.

William Woods continued to put runs on the board in the top of the second inning. Midway through the inning, Arnold recorded her second run of the contest when Walker singled down left field. The Hornets continued to struggle in the bottom of the second and remained behind five runs.

WWU kept the bats swinging in the top of third. Amanda Bouchey was able to give the Owls their sixth run of the game when she reached home courtesy of a Wilson single down left field. Moments later, Devyn Burton was able to record the seventh William Woods run when she reached home on a Arnold single down right center field. Ahead 7-0, Darcie Depping and Wilson were able to stretch their lead to 9-0 when they made it home on a Walker double down deep center field.
