FAYETTE, Mo. –The William Woods University women's track and field team placed 8
th out of 17 at the Central Methodist Invite with 43 points.
The Owls next compete at the Darrel Gourley Open in Liberty, Mo. hosted by William Jewell on Saturday, April 13.
Jumps
Hannah Ehlinger placed fourth in the high jump with a 1.55-meter jump, tying for fifth place in the record books and earning the team five points.
Megan Van Harn placed fifth, jumping 1.50-meters for four points.
Throws
Megan Van Harn took third in the shot put, shattering the WWU record with her 12.61-meters throw.
Katie French came in fourth with her 11.80-meter throw. Combined, the two earned the team 11 points.
In the hammer throw,
Ananiah Talton placed sixth with a 42.21-meter throw and
Cassidy Roling placed seventh with a 40.36-meter throw. Combined, they earned the team five points.
French threw 36.72-meters in the discus, placing seventh for two points. Her throw put her fourth in the record book. Talton placed ninth with a 35.18-meter throw.
Sprints/Middle Distance
Van Harn placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, finishing in 26.83 seconds for five points. She also placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 59.96 for five points.
Distance
Kimi Putnam placed third in the 5000-meter run with a 20:52.96 time, earning six points for the team.
