ELLSAH, Ill.- William Woods indoor track and field continue their race to Gainesville with another impressive showing, this time at the Prin Relays hosted by Principia University.
The Owls continue to impress on the women's side with excellent performances from Anna Hart, who tallied another NAIA 'A' Standard in the 3000m racewalk and a solid 5k team that saw new personal records from Devan Humphreys, Amy Schreck and Kathryn Hirtz.
Sarah Kirby, Abbie Gibson, and Gretchen Marriott all earned new personal records in the mile run with Kirby earning a fourth-place finish at the meet. Rounding out the women's events, Crystal Ruden and Humphries both notched a new personal record in the 3k with Ruden taking home the gold in the race.
On the men's side of the track, Woods distance medley relay team ran a time of 10:25.71, narrowly missing the NAIA 'B' Standard to qualify for the National Championships. Senior runner Jenson Starr earned a fifth-place finish in the 3k, followed by Kyle Hagemeyer who both raced their way to personal bests on the day.
In the men's mile, Blaine Brodersen led the field running a 4:26.10 to earn the gold with another personal best. Colten Crocker placed second with a jump of 4.50, breaking his own school record to set the standard. The Woods sprints team saw several different athletes record person bests in their respective events, closing out a well-rounded meet.
