FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods women's soccer team picked up their second win of the season Tuesday night against Lindenwood-Belleville, 5-1.
Aurora Henriksen recorded two goals, while
Taylor Amlong,
McKenzie Gourley, and
Chloe Overkamp each recorded one goal for the Owls.
Three minutes into the game, Henriksen scored her first goal of the night and gave the Owls a 1-0 lead.
With 37 minutes remaining, the Owls had two shot attempts, but none of them connected.
The Lynx had two shots on goal, but
Michyla Handley was able to make the saves.
The Owls recorded another goal, kicked by Amlong with 31 minutes on the clock, 2-0. This was the last goal of the first half.
William Woods had 11 shots in the first half, while Lindenwood-Belleville recorded four shots. Handley made four saves in the first half.
Five minutes into the second half, Gourley found the back of the net to increase the lead for the Owls, 3-0.
The Owls were very active, taking four shots on goal before Henriksen was able to secure her second goal of the night with 29 minutes on the clock, 4-0.
With 13 minutes left to go, Overcamp was the final scorer for the Owls, 5-0.
The Lynx were able to grab their only goal of the match with 7:49 remaining, assisted by Luiza Bueno and headed in by Sarah Garcia, 5-1.
The Owls are set to take on Missouri Baptist, September 21 in St. Louis, Mo. at 2 p.m.
