FULTON, Mo. – Freshman
Darius Yohe became the new William Woods record holder for game-day blocks following his eight-block performance in Saturday's 71-54 win over Williams Baptist University. The previous record of six, held by Lucas Dahl, was set in 2009 against McKendree University.
The men's basketball team snapped their five-game losing streak with the win, and the Owls move to 8-10 on the season with a 4-7 conference mark.
The Owls take almost two weeks off and start the second leg of their conference schedule on Thursday, Jan. 23, with a road game at Hannibal-LaGrange University. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls took a 6-0 lead to start the game. WBU took four minutes to score, but by the 13-minute mark, WBU evened the score at 6-6.
Makenzie Fessler put the Owls back up by two with two good free throws, but WBU hit back-to-back jumpers to take their first lead of the game with 11:27 on the clock, 10-8.
Tyriel Nelson evened the score with his jumper in the paint, but WBU scored two on free throws on their next play to take back the lead, 12-10.
Andrew Nett sunk a three, giving the Owls the lead once more, and despite WBU evening the score with 8:44 on the board, the Owls did not give the lead up again.
With 3:51 on the clock,
D'Aaron Owens hit a three to jump-start an Owls' 10-0 run in just over a minute and a half to take a 12-point lead, 36-24.
WBU scored the final points of the half, sending the teams to the locker room with the Owls leading 38-28.
Matt Burgess hit a three to start the second half scoring, and a jumper from Fessler put the Owls up by 14 two minutes in. WBU cut the game to 11 three times over the next three minutes.
Darius Yohe blocked three WBU shots in a minute span while adding in a jumper to put the Owls up by 13 halfway through.
Two more blocks from Yohe in a four-second span tied the game-day record with 7:33 on the clock. Yohe went on to score the next two baskets to give the Owls a 15-point lead with 6:31 on the clock.
Yohe then broke the game-day record with his block at the 5:38 mark.
WBU brought the game within 10 with 4:44 on the clock with a three, but Burgess hit a fast break layup following
Ian Hodges' steal, and Fessler followed with a jumper in the paint to put the Owls back up by 14, 65-51.
The Owls scored the final points of the game with a three by Owens with 26 seconds to play to give the Owls a 71-54 win over WBU.
