COLUMBIA, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team shone bright in Thursday's 30-point win over the Stephens College Stars, 71-41. Currently on a five-game winning streak, the Owls improve to 13-4 on the season with an 8-4 conference mark.
Nine of the Owls scored at least one bucket in the win.
Kaycee Gerald led the way with 16, shooting 72.7 percent from the field.
The Owls play their final non-conference game on Monday, Jan. 20, at College of the Ozarks. Tip-off is slated for 6 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls dominated the Stars in the opening quarter, outdoing them 20-4 in the first 10 minutes of play.
With three different scorers to start the game, the Owls jumped out to a 7-0 lead. SC scored their first points four minutes in and added a third off a free throw.
The Owls then scored nine unanswered to push a 13-point lead with just under two minutes to play, 16-3.
Katie French scored the final two baskets of the quarter, giving the Owls a 20-4 lead.
A fast break lay-up from
Kaycee Gerald following her steal three and a half minutes into the second quarter gave the Owls a 20-point lead, but just under the halfway point Stephens worked to cut the game to 12, 28-16.
Drake broke SC's 7-0 run, and the Owls pushed their lead back to 18 with 14 seconds on the clock. Just before the buzzer, SC hit a three to send the Owls into the locker room with a 15-point lead, 34-19.
The Owls scored the first six points of the second half, taking up a 21-point lead with 8:52 on the clock, 40-19.
With a 6-0 run off three jumpers, the Owls pushed a 24-point lead just over halfway through the third quarter, their largest of the game thus far, 48-24. SC brought the game back down to 19, but the Owls scored the final three points of the quarter, 55-32.
The Owls pounded out a 9-0 run over a two-minute span to grab a 30-point lead with 6:19 to play in the final quarter, 64-34.
A three from
Ashleigh Frampton put the Owls up by 31 with 1:47 to play, and
Caitlin Hicks scored a bucket in the paint to give the Owls a 33-point lead.
SC scored the final points of the game, bringing the score to 71-41 to end the game.
