POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team grabbed an 84-72 win over non-conference University of the Ozarks Monday evening. The Owls improve to 14-4 with the win.
Kaycee Gerald posted her seventh double-double of the season as she scored a career-high 30 points with 14 rebounds.
The Owls begin the second half of conference play with a road game at Hannibal-LaGrange University on Thursday, Jan. 22. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls started the scoring, but COFO scored back-to-back to take a five-point lead two minutes in. COFO extended the lead to four with 6:23 on the clock.
The Owls blasted an 11-0 run through two minutes of play to take a seven-point lead with 2:19 left in the first quarter, 17-10.
COFO answered with a 6-0 run, closing the gap to one at the end of the quarter, 17-16.
A jumper from
Kaycee Gerald put the Owls back up by three to start the second quarter, and a two from
Rylie Cox gave the Owls a five-point lead, 21-16.
Carleigh Jenkins hit a three followed by back-to-back three-pointers from
Peyton Greenlee to give the Owls an 11-point cushion.
A small time later, the Owls pushed an 8-0 run in just a minute span to put the Owls up 44-29 with 1:11 on the clock.
COFO scored the final points of the half from free throws, sending the two teams into the locker room with the Owls leading 46-33. The Owls outscored COFO 29-17 in the second quarter.
Ashleigh Frampton scored the first seven points of the third quarter for the Owls. Her three-pointer gave the Owls a 16-point lead with 6:45 on the clock, 54-38.
COFO cut the game to 11 three times and with 2:39 left in the quarter, they began a 5-0 run to bring them to a single digit deficit, 60-52.
Greenlee broke the Owls' silence with a fast break lay-up. Fouled on the play, she went to the line to complete the three-point play. Gerald scored the final points of the quarter to put the Owls up by 13 with 10 minutes left, 65-52.
The two teams traded buckets to start the fourth quarter, but after two minutes of play, both teams had three minutes of silence on the scoring front.
Frampton broke the silence with a put-back with 4:40 on the clock.
The Owls maintained a double-digit lead, and
Rylie Cox hit a three with 1:36 on the clock to give the Owls a 16-point advantage, 81-65.
COFO knocked the Owls' lead to 12, but Greenlee answered with a short jumper to give the Owls a 14-point lead with just under a minute remaining, 84-70.
