ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team used a powerful third quarter to lead them to their first win of 2020. The 76-60 win over Missouri Baptist University brings the Owls to 9-4 on the season with a 4-4 conference mark.
Peyton Greenlee was on fire with five three-pointers and 10 total buckets for 29 points.
Kaycee Gerald opened the 2020 portion of the season with a double-double (19 PT, 12 RB).
The Owls close out their seven-game road stretch at Park University on Tuesday, January 7. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.

Game Flow
The first five minutes of the game were back-and-forth, but the Owls finally grasped the lead for the rest of the first quarter with a three from
Jazlyn Drake with 4:27 on the clock, 14-12.
A three from
Peyton Greenlee followed to give the Owls a five-point advantage, 17-12. MBU knocked the game back to two following three free throws with 3:33 to play.
The Owls scored six unanswered to take an eight-point lead with 19 seconds on the clock, but MBU hit a bucket at the buzzer to send the game into the second quarter with the Owls leading 25-19.
MBU opened the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take a one-point lead, 26-25. Possession of the lead bounced back and forth throughout the rest of the half, but a three from
Rylie Cox with 34 seconds on the clock was the last of the half, giving the Owls a 39-37 lead heading into halftime.
MBU knotted up the game to start the second half, but Greenlee and Gerald combined for five points to take up a five-point lead just one and a half minutes into the half.
The Owls powered a 7-0 run over a three-minute span to take the first double-digit lead of the game with 2:44 on the clock, 53-43. MBU scored two from free throws, but the Owls closed out the quarter with six more points, 59-45.
The Owls outscored MBU 20-8 in the third quarter.
MBU cut the game to seven four minutes in to the final quarter, 60-53.
Greenlee answered with a field goal and a three to put the Owls back up by double digits halfway through, 65-53.
In the final two minutes, the Owls scored seven unanswered to close out the game with a 16-point win, 76-60.
