FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team honored their five seniors prior to Saturday's gritty 74-70 win over Missouri Baptist University. The Owls improve to 21-5 on the season with a 15-5 conference mark.
The Owls next host Park University on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 5:30 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls got on the board first with a jumper from
Ashleigh Frampton, but MBU evened the score on the next possession. The Owls and MBU were knotted up twice more before MBU hit a three to take a three-point lead with 5:25 on the clock.
MBU pushed up by six with 3:50 to play in the first.
Jazlyn Drake hit a three to bring the Owls within three, but MBU answered back with a jumper.
After Frampton brought the Owls within three again with 3:19 to play, MBU closed out the quarter with a 6-2 run to hold a 20-13 lead.
The Owls powered a 12-0 run starting with a long jumper from
Kaycee Gerald through the first six minutes of the second quarter to take a five-point lead, 25-20.
MBU finally scored with 3:48 on the clock and managed to even the score at 28-28 with 1:29 on the board.
Gerald scored on a fast break layup to put the Owls back up by two, but MBU hit a three close to the buzzer to take a one-point lead heading into halftime, 31-30.
MBU grabbed a four-point lead to start the second half.
Gerald scored three consecutive baskets including two off fast breaks to give the Owls a three-point lead with 4:16 left in the third, 39-36.
Drake hit a down-low jumper to take back the lead after MBU evened the score, and Gerald scored on another fast break layup to put the Owls up by four, 43-39.
MBU took a three-point lead with just under two minutes to play, but
Rylie Cox hit the final jumper of the quarter to send the game into the fourth with MBU leading by one, 48-47.
The lead changed three times with four ties within the first six minutes of the final quarter. Frampton was fouled on her good basket with 4:04, and her made free throw gave the Owls a three-point lead, 62-59.
MBU brought the game within one twice, but Gerald's fast break points started an Owls 6-0 run to take a seven-point lead with 38 seconds to play, 70-63.
MBU hit a three to cut the game to four with 33 seconds on the board.
Fouling to stop the clock, Gerald was sent to the line. She sank both, giving the Owls a six-point lead with 29 seconds to play.
The Owls fouled on a three-pointer, but MBU only made one to cut the game to five, 72-67.
With 10 seconds on the clock, Frampton was sent to the line. She made both, giving the Owls a seven-point lead, 74-67.
MBU hit a three with two seconds on the clock to end the game with a four-point win, 74-70.
