HENDERSON, Tenn. – The William Woods University women's basketball team was outdone in the final quarter of Thursday evening's game at No. 12 Freed-Hardeman University, resulting in a 64-53 loss. The loss is just the Owls' sixth of the season. The Owls, sitting at 22-6 on the season, rank fourth in the American Midwest Conference with a 16-6 conference mark.
The Owls finish out the road portion of their regular season on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Williams Baptist. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m.

Game Flow
The Owls scored first with a three from
Ashleigh Frampton, but FHU went 4-for-4 on free throws over the next two minutes to take a one-point lead, 4-3.
A jumper from
Kaycee Gerald put the Owls up by one, but FHU evened the score three more times.
Peyton Greenlee hit a three to put the Owls up 12-9, and
Rylie Cox hit a field goal following her defensive rebound to put the Owls up 14-9 at the end of the first quarter.
The Owls maintained the lead in the second quarter, and after FHU cut the game to one, the Owls powered a 7-2 run to go up by six, 22-16.
Kasey Hazell scored the final points of the quarter to send the Owls into halftime with a seven-point lead, 27-20.
Gerald opened the second half on the foul line, giving the Owls a nine-point advantage just one minute in, 29-20.
FHU hit back-to-back three-pointers to cut the game to three, but Gerald and Greenlee each scored to put the Owls back up by seven with 6:11 on the clock, 33-26.
Gerald's back-to-back jumpers put the Owls up by eight with 2:19 on the clock, but FHU held the Owls scoreless in the final minutes while scoring four points to cut the game to four, 41-37.
FHU scored three more to start the fourth quarter, bringing the game within one just over 30 seconds in, 41-40.
Gerald scored on back-to-back plays, giving the Owls a five-point lead, but just over halfway through the final quarter, FHU tied the game at 47-47.
FHU took a three-point lead with a free throw and a field goal, but Hazell brought the game back within one with a jumper with 3:13 to play.
FHU answered with a 7-0 run to take an eight-point lead with 2:40 on the clock, 57-49. In the final five minutes of the game, FHU outscored the Owls 16-6.
The Owls were outdone 27-12 in the final quarter, ending the game with a 64-53 loss.
