Greenlee Breaks Career Three-Point Record in Win over WBU

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – Senior Peyton Greenlee broke the William Woods career three-point record in Saturday's 81-62 win over Williams Baptist University. The Owls improve to 23-6 on the season with a 17-6 conference mark.
 
The Owls officially clinched the fourth seed in the American Midwest Conference. They will host the No. 5 seed in the first round of the AMC Championship.
 
They play their final game of the 2019-20 regular season on Thursday, Feb. 27, at home. The Owls face Stephens at 5:30 p.m.
 
By The Numbers
223 – Peyton Greenlee has hit 223 three-pointers to date in her four-year career.
55.7 – The Owls shot 55.7 percent from the field.
26 – Greenlee tallied 26 points en route to her double-double, shooting 10-for-13 from the field with four threes. The Owls outshot WBU 26-9 in the second quarter.

Game Flow
The Owls and WBU had six lead changes and five ties throughout the first eight minutes of the first quarter. 
 
With 1:35 on the clock, Kasey Hazell hit back-to-back jumpers to take a four-point lead. WBU scored to bring it within two, but Hazell scored the final bucket of the first to take a four-point lead heading into the second quarter, 22-18.
 
The Owls outscored WBU 26-9 in the second quarter. 
 
The Owls pushed out a 10-point lead after three minutes of play, but WBU brought it back to seven after a three-point play. 
 
With 6:02 on the clock, Peyton Greenlee hit a three to begin an Owls' 17-0 run spanning five minutes to take a 24-point lead, 48-24. WBU finally scored with 38 seconds on the clock to send the game into halftime with the Owls up 48-27.
 
The Owls maintained a 20+ lead in the third. A three from Tori Nesslage with 5:35 on the board gave the Owls a 26-point lead, 60-34. 
 
After WBU hit a three to cut the game to 23, the Owls pushed an 8-0 run to put up a 31-point lead with 1:46 to play, 68-37.
 
The Owls and WBU traded buckets in the final two minutes to send the game into the fourth with the Owls up 72-43.
 
The Owls were outscored 19-9 in the final quarter to end the game with an 81-62 lead.
