FULTON, Mo. – For the second straight game, the William Woods University men's basketball team topped a ranked opponent. With Saturday's 55-50 win over RV Lyon College, the Owls improve to 12-12 on the season with an 8-9 conference mark.
Makenzie Fessler posted his sixth double-double of the season with his 18 rebound, 12 point performance.
The Owls travel to Harris-Stowe State University on Thursday, Feb. 13, for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Game Flow
The Owls jumped out to a 6-0 lead while holding Lyon scoreless for the first five minutes of the game.
Following Lyon getting on the board,
Tyriel Nelson hit a three and
Darius Yohe went 2-for-2 from the foul line to take up a nine-point lead, 11-2.
Lyon cut the game to three just over halfway through the first and managed to even the score with 7:52 on the clock, 15-15. They completed their 9-0 run to take a four-point lead with 6:02 remaining, 19-15.
D'Aaron Owens hit a three to bring the game within one, but Lyon pushed out by six.
Another three from Owens brought the Owls within three, but Lyon ended the half with a 5-0 run to take a 31-23 lead.
Lyon took their first double-digit lead coming into the second half.
A long two from
Makenzie Fessler cut the game to single digits, and Yohe and Fessler added two more buckets to bring the game within five with 15:35 to play, 37-32.
Ian Hodges hit a three to cut the game to three, and Owens' third three of the game brought the Owls within two with 11:48 on the clock, 42-40.
Codi Whitlock followed with a down low bucket to even the score at 42-42, but Lyon took the lead once again.
Two good free throws from Yohe gave the Owls a one-point lead, and a jumper from Nelson following his steal put the Owls up by three with 6:05 to play, 47-44.
The lead changed three times over the next four minutes with neither team leading by more than one point.
Hodges hit a clutch three from Nelson with 1:33 on the clock to put the Owls up by two, 52-50.
Lyon fouled to stop the clock, but being in double bonus, Hodges went to the line. He sunk both, giving the Owls a four-point advantage with 21 seconds to play.
Coming out of a Lyon timeout, the Owls forced a Lyon turnover.
With 9 seconds on the clock, Lyon fouled once again, sending Fessler to the line. Fessler went 1-for-2, giving the Owls a five-point lead, 55-50.
Lyon attempted one more shot before the buzzer but Yohe blocked the shot, ending the game with a 55-50 upset.
