BATESVILLE, Ar. – The William Woods University women's soccer sophomore
Lauren Helmert netted two goals for the Owls in this afternoon's victory over Lyon College, 7-3. The Owls improved to 6-4-1 on the season and 2-2 on conference play.

Hannah Loethen crossed into the box to
Sydney Balducci scoring the first goal of the game, 1-0.
Lauren Helmert header found the back of the net off of an assist from
Taylor Amlong with the clock hitting the 6
th minute mark, 2-0.
Helmert netted her second goal of the game with a left-side cross from Loethen in th 19
th minute expanding the lead to 3-0.
Lyon looked to come back into the game as they scored an unassisted goal at the end of the first period bringing the score to 3-1.
The Owls tallied three more goals bringing the lead to 6-1. Following a foul in the box, Lyon scored on a penalty kick.
Mackenzie Boyle scored one more for the Owls with a shot to the right side. Lyon added their third and final goal, 7-3.
The Owls outshot the Scotts, 31-6.
Next for the Owls is another conference game vs. Central Baptist at home on Saturday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m.
