Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer shutout Stephens College Tuesday evening for their fourth straight win. The 5-0 win brings the Owls to 8-4-1 on the season with a 4-2 conference mark.
Sydney Balducci opened the scoring with her first goal into the bottom left corner of the net from
McKenzie Gourley just 1:43 into the game.
After a foul in the box in the 14
th minute, Gourley capitalized on the penalty kick to put the Owls up 2-0.
Despite taking six more shots in the remaining 30 minutes of the first half, the Owls were unable to get on the board again.
Coming off the third corner in a row from
Abby Prather-Turner in the 57
th minute, Balducci found the back of the net to score her second goal of the game.
Gourley crossed the ball to the left side of the field in the 65
th minute, finding the feet of Balducci for her third goal of the game.
With another foul in the box by Stephens in the 74
th minute,
Brianna Morrow delivered on the penalty kick for her first collegiate goal to give the Owls' a 5-0 lead.
Michyla Handley (3-2) earned the win in goal. She spent 70 minutes in between the posts and recorded two saves.
Belle Boschert came in goal to finish out the game.
The Owls hit the road on Saturday, Oct. 23, for a conference game at Missouri Baptist University.
