Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The William Woods University women's soccer team defeated Missouri Baptist this afternoon, 2-1. The win improves the Owls to 9-4-1 overall and 5-2 in conference play.
In the first half, the Owls had four attempts to find the back of the net but they were all unsuccessful.
With the clock hitting the 48
th min mark,
Lexi Drbul passed the ball to
McKenzie Gourley who took a touch around the defender and slotted the ball low near the post past the goalkeeper scoring the first goal of the game, 1-0.
Five minutes later,
Abby Prather-Turner fired off a low shot to the far post beating the keeper extending the lead for the Owls, 2-0.
MBU scored their only and final goal of the game in the 73
rd minute.
The Owls outshot MBU, 10-7.
Belle Boschert grabbed the win in goal. She stopped two shots on goal during her 90 minutes in between the posts.
The Owls next play University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy at St. Mary's High School on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m.
