FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team fell short to Oakland City 3-2 this afternoon. The loss dropped the Owls to 2-7 on the season.
OCU scored the first two goals of the game in the first period grabbing the lead, 2-0.
Guillermo Fernandez passed the ball to
Sam Allen who quickly passed through the defenders to
Michael Bhat who scored for the owls, 2-1.
In the second period,
Breck McGrail found to the back of the net off an assist from Bhat to tie the game, 2-2.
With less than two minutes remaining in the second period, OCU scored a goal to win the game.
Iker Gonzalez (0-3) stayed for 90 minutes in between the posts and made five stops.
OCU outshot the Owls, 21-7.
Next for the Owls is an away game vs. Williams Baptist on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m.
