Makenzie Fessler scored his 1,000
th career point in Friday evening's heartbreaking loss to Dalton State College at the Talladega Fresh Start Classic. The 52-50 loss in the final seconds brings the Owls to 2-3 on the season.
The Owls play host No. 11 Talladega on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m.

Game Highlights
Makenzie Fessler scored first in the game, and despite DSC evening the score multiple times, the Owls stayed one possession ahead. With 12:57 on the clock, DSC took their first lead of the game on a fast break layup, 10-8. DSC pushed out a five-point lead with 6:28 on the clock, but a three from
Mike Robinson followed by two good free throws from him cut the game to two, 19-17.
A three from
Nathan Schwartze followed by a jumper from
Darius Yohe put the Owls up by one with 2:56 on the clock, 22-21, but DSC closed out the half with a 7-0 run, 28-22.
DSC pushed their lead to eight points early in the second half.
A three from Fessler ignited a 7-0 run with the next four points coming from
Jared Crutcher to cut the game to one point with 14:42 on the clock, 34-33.
A dunk from Crutcher kept the Owls within one, and back-to-back threes from Fessler gave the Owls their first lead of the half, 41-36.
With 5:01 to play, DSC evened the score, but Yohe quickly hit a jumper and made the extra point from the foul to put the Owls back up by three, 45-42.
DSC evened the score three more times but the Owls managed to stay one possession ahead. With 1:53 to play, DSC evened the score with a traditional three-point play following a foul on the rebound, 50-50.
With 13 seconds on the clock, DSC scored on a layup to take a two-point lead. The Owls had one last chance to score but the shot was blocked, ending the game with an upsetting 52-50 loss.
