FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team served Iowa Wesleyan their first loss of the season Monday evening. The 72-64 win brings the Owls to 2-3 overall with both wins coming out of Anderson Arena.
 
The Owls travel to NCAA Division III Greenville University on Thursday, Nov. 18, for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

Game Highlights
The lead flipped back-and-forth through the first half of the first quarter. A three from 
Katie Keilholz gave the Owls a two-point lead, and 
Sydney Booker and 
Natalie Thomas followed with jumpers to give the Owls a six-point lead with 3:43 on the clock, 12-6. IWU cut the game to one over the next 43 seconds, but the Owls closed out the half with an 8-0 run with threes from Keilholz and 
Olivia Hanks and a layup from 
Kiyanna Rodgers, 20-11.
 
A 9-0 Owls run put the team up by 11 after IWU cut the game to two three minutes into the second quarter. Rodgers, Keilholz and Booker each scored three. IWU cut the game to four, but a three from Hanks and two from 
Amaya Keeling put the Owls back up by nine with 1:33 remaining in the half. The Owls went into halftime with an eight-point lead, 36-28.
 
IWU cut the game to three multiple times in the third quarter, and the Owls headed into the final quarter with just a four-point lead, 49-45. IWU outscored the Owls 17-13 in the third.
 
Rodgers and 
Kasey Hazell kicked off the final 10 minutes with buckets inside the paint, putting the Owls up by eight just a minute in, 53-45. IWU cut the game to two following a fast break layup, but a traditional three-point play from Hanks put the Owls back up by five, 58-53. An 8-0 run with four points coming from Booker, three from Keilholz and one from Thomas put the Owls up by 11 with 1:21 to play, 68-57. Despite IWU cutting the game to six, Keilholz scored the final points with a short jumper just before the buzzer to end the game with an eight-point win, 72-64.
