Box Score GREENVILLE, Ill. – The William Woods University women's basketball team fell to NCAA Division III Greenville University Thursday evening, 83-61. The Owls fall to 2-4 on the season.
The Owls travel to Missouri Valley on Saturday, Nov. 20, for a 4 p.m. tip-off.

Natalie Thomas put the Owls up by four with 6:39 on the clock, and a steal and a fast break jumper from
Kasey Hazell extended the Owls' lead to six, 10-4. Thomas hit two more threes to keep the six-point lead, 16-10. GC managed to close the gap to one point, but two free throws from Thomas gave the Owls a three-point lead heading into the second quarter, 18-15.
GC managed to even the score at 20-20 early in the second quarter and took over the lead with 8:31 on the clock, 23-20. GC held onto the lead until
Katie Keilholz knocked down two three-pointers to put the Owls back on top, 31-29. GC ended the half with an 8-2 run to possess a 37-33 lead heading into halftime.
Hazell and
Sydney Booker scored on back-to-back plays to even the score to start the second half, 37-37. GC followed with a 13-2 run, grasping a 50-39 lead. A layup from
Olivia Hanks broke up the run, but GC continued with an 11-5 run to close out the quarter, 61-46.
Arriyonn Phillips scored the first four points of the fourth quarter, cutting the Owls' deficit to 11 just over a minute in, 61-50. Thomas and Hazell followed with two points apiece, bringing the difference to just seven points, 61-54, but GC ignited an 18-3 run in the final five minutes of the game to close it out with an 83-61 Owls' loss.
