MARSHALL, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team fell to Missouri Valley College this afternoon, 80-63. The loss drops the Owls to 2-5 on the season.
The Owls host next Baker University on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m.

Game Highlights
MVC had a 11-2 run to start the first quarter, but one free throw by
Sydney Booker followed by a three from Katie Keiholz cut the game to five with 5:49 remaining. A three by Nathalie Thomas assisted by
Jheda Kennedy cut the game to five once again, 18-13. With 41 seconds left, Booker scored a field goal on the paint assisted to end the first quarter trailing by 10, 27-17.
MVC extended their lead to 20, following a 17-7 run with 3:57 left on the second quarter. MVC kept the lead throughout the remainder of the second quarter going into halftime leading the Owls by 18, 50-32.
Thomas and Kennedy hit back-to-back jumpers to cut the game to 19.
Taneigh Boyd scored in the paint to bring the game to 61-48. MVC answered with a three to hold a 64-48 lead into the final quarter. The Owls outscored MVC 16-14 in the third.
The Owls trailed by 21 with 4:50 left in the fourth quarter. The Owls held MVC scoreless in the last 2:10 as they scored the final seven points of the game in the final minute.
