FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's basketball team topped Iowa Wesleyan Friday evening, 67-62. The Owls move to 2-2 on the season while improving their winning streak in Anderson Arena to five games.
The Owls next play Dalton State College on Friday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m.

Game Highlights
A three from
Makenzie Fessler followed by a tip-in from
Jared Crutcher gave the Owls a four-point lead just under four minutes into the game, 7-3.
IWU took the lead and pushed their lead to 13 with 4:49 left in the first half, 33-20.
Two threes from
Nathan Schwartze and two free throws from Fessler cut the game to five with 3:34 to play, 33-28.
A three from Schwartze followed by an in-the-paint bucket from Fessler cut the game to three with just over a minute to play, 36-33. Back-to-back blocks from
Jared Crutcher halted IWU from scoring at the close of the half, leaving the score at 36-33.
Crutcher scored first in the second half, cutting the game to one, 36-35. IWU pushed back the lead, and almost halfway through the second, they held a 10-point lead, 54-44.
A layup from Crutcher began an Owls' 10-0 run over the next five minutes to even the score at 54-54. Crutcher scored four, Fessler scored four and Schwartze scored two.
IWU quickly put in a layup to take back the lead, but Fessler answered with a three from the top of the key to give the Owls their first lead of the half, 59-58.
Two free throws from
Darius Yohe gave the Owls a five-point lead with 44 seconds on the clock, 65-60. After IWU brought the game within three on the next play, Fessler went 2-for-2 from the foul line to give the Owls back a five-point lead with 22 seconds remaining, 67-62.
IWU missed their next three three-pointers in an attempt to cut the game to a one possession game, but was unsuccessful, ending the game with a 67-62 Owls' win.
