FULTON, Mo. - The William Woods University women's soccer team defeated William Baptist University 4-0 this evening advancing to the Semifinals of the AMC Tournament. The win moves the Owls to 12-4-1 overall.
With 12 minutes into the first half,
Sydney Balducci took a touch down the line past her defender and send a cross in back post where
Mackenzie Boyle tapped it in grabbing the lead for the Owls.
Less than a minute following the first goal, the ball played wide to the feet of
Lauren Helmert for an early cross in the far post where Boyle taps it in past the goalkeeper for her second goal of the night.
Balducci then scored one of her own assisted by
McKenzie Gourley in the 31st minute of regulation, 3-0.
Abby Prather-Turner found the back of the net with the clock hitting the 61st minute mark.
The Owls outshot WBU, 20-3.
Belle Boschert (8-2) was credited with the win in goal. She played 90 minutes in between the posts and made one stop.
The Owls will travel to Harris-Stowe for a spot in the finals of the AMC Tournament on Monday, Nov. 8. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
