SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team were defeated by Evangel University Tuesday evening, 90-72. The Owls drop to 1-2 on the season.
The Owls travel next to Culver-Stockton College on Friday, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m.

Game Flow
Evangel had a 10-0 run in the first 2:30, but two layups in a row by Booker followed by Thomas put the Owls down by six. A three-pointer by Makenna Wuelling assisted by
Arriyonn Phillips followed by another three-pointer by Hazell also assisted by Phillips with only 0:01 second left in the first quarter to ended the quarter with the Owls trailing 29-22.
Evangel held a 43-29 lead over the Owls at the end of the second quarter. Hanks hit a three to cut the deficit to eight, 45-37. Both teams were held scoreless for over two minutes. The Owls ended the second quarter with two free throws by Booker to trail by 11.
The Owls had a 17-13 run within six minutes of the third quarter with two layups in the paint by
Jheda Kennedy to tie the game for the first time 56-56. Evangel scored nine in a row to grab the lead once again 66-57.
The Owls scored only six points in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter with the team trailing by 20, 83-63. A layup in the paint followed by a good three-pointer added five points for Hanks to end the game with a 22-point loss, 92-70.
