FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team fell short 2-1 to University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy this Wednesday evening. The Owls move to 3-2 on the season.
With 18:12 on the clock, Guillermo Fernandez had an opportunity to score for the Owls with a penalty kick but UHSP's goalkeeper saved it.
Neither team was able to score in the first period.
Fernandez gave the Owls the first goal of the game assisted by Zach Baliva with 73:35 on the clock, 1-0.
With the clock hitting the 63 minute mark, UHSP found the end of the net to tie the game 1-1.
UHSP scored the last goal of the game with a penalty kick to grab the win 2-1 in the 83rd minute.
The Owls outshot UHSP 24-9.
The Owls return to action Saturday, March 13, at 4:30 p.m. against Central Baptist College. The game will be played at Westminster College. No spectators from either team are allowed.
