BATESVILLE, Ark. – The William Woods University volleyball team won their second consecutive match with Friday's 3-0 sweep over Lyon College. The Owls move to 2-1 on the season with a 2-0 conference mark.
The Owls won 25-22, 25-22, 25-12.
The team returns home for a conference match versus Stephens College on Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m. No spectators are allowed.

Game Flow
Lyon jumped out to a 7-2 lead in set one and held the lead until
Kate Doerhoff's kill evened the score at 17-17. The two teams traded points until
Faith McQueen and Doerhoff had back-to-back blocks to put the Owls up 23-21. A kill from McQueen brought the Owls to set point, and a Lyon attack error ended the set, 25-22.
Lyon again jumped out to a strong 8-2 lead to start set two, but the Owls rallied for an 8-0 run to go up 12-11. The two teams remained close until
Tess Schannuth started a 4-0 run with her kill to give the Owls a 22-19 lead. A kill from
Hannah Kuehl brought the Owls to set point, and a kill from
Ally Konarzewski ended the set with a 25-22 win.
This time the Owls jumped out with a strong lead to start the set, pushing a 12-3 lead coming out of the gate. A 5-0 run featuring three service aces from
Lauren Hiestand gave the Owls a 21-10 lead, and two kills from Konarzewski ended the set with a dominating 25-12 win.
