FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team won their fourth consecutive game Saturday afternoon with a 2-0 blanking over Central Baptist College. The Owls remain undefeated in conference play with a 4-0 record and are 4-1 overall.
Despite outshooting CBC 20-4 in the first half with five shots on goal, the Owls were unable to find the back of the net.
Just 3:51 into the second half,
McKenzie Gourley connected off
Cindy Gonzalez's cross to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
It was not until just over three minutes left on the clock when the Owls put up their second goal.
Savannah Smith blasted a shot that bounced off the post. The ball landed just in front of
Alyssa Messina who quickly punched the ball in for her first goal as an Owl.
The Owls outshot CBC 36-6.
CeVana Borgstedt (3-0) was credited with the win in goal. She now has two shutouts on the season.
The Owls travel to Harris-Stowe State University on Sunday, March 14, for a 1 p.m. game. WWU spectators are not allowed.
