LINCOLN, Ill. – The William Woods University volleyball team came from behind to even the score at Lincoln College (Ill.) Saturday afternoon but succumbed to a 3-2 loss. The Owls are now 4-2 on the season.
 
The set scores were: 23-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-22, 9-15.
 
The Owls next play at Harris-Stowe State University on Thursday, March 25 at 6 p.m.
 
Quote from the Coach
"It was a tough day in the end for us because this was a winnable match. A slow start got us in trouble in the first. We put some things together in the second, and we were really in position to take that set. We had a solid comeback in sets three and four; we got some key blocks, and we also found some more offensive rhythm. We played cleaner, and our defense was much more consistent. The rough start for us in the fifth set was just too much to recover from in a short set. We have some things to feel good about and some things that we need to address."

14 – Kate Doerhoff led the team with 14 kills.
