FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's tennis fell to NCAA Division 2 opponent University of Illinois Springfield this Sunday afternoon, 4-3. The Owls moves to 6-3 on the season.
UIS only had four players, and the Owls were able to take the doubles point winning at No. 1 doubles.
Ana Zavala and
Zlata Shuraeva teamed up at No. 1 doubles defeating Sina Skjelstad and Neha Mokhasi, 6-3. At No. 2 doubles,
Rukshika Wijesooriya and
Hannah Meyer fell to Franca Bucco and Carol Quevedo, 6-0.
The Owls were unable to win any singles match except at No. 5 and No. 6 by default.
The No. 6 Owls will compete next at home against Blue Mountain College on Friday, Mar. 26, at 11 a.m.
